Helen Shirley Robertson July, 9 1935 – May 28, 2020 Helen Shirley (Earl) Robertson, 84, of Fernley, Nevada, formerly of Boone passed away May 28, 2020 at her daughter's home in Fernley, Nevada. Shirley was born in Rippy, Iowa on July 9, 1935 the daughter of John and Luella (Vaughan) Earl. Shirley grew up in Ogden, Iowa where she graduated from Ogden high school in 1953. She met Paul Dean Robertson in Boone, Iowa and the couple was united in marriage on May 28, 1953, they then moved to California. While living in California Shirley worked at JC Penny, was the manager at the Wise Shop, and later worked in the office for United Van Lines of Torrance, California for 17 years, retiring in 1997. After retiring Shirley and Paul came back to Boone, Iowa. Shirley is survived by 3 of her sisters: Alice Mae Deaton of Iowa; Jackie Davis of California; and Olive Upmyer of Oregon. Her 2 children: son Randy Robertson of California and Daughter Brenda Heller of Nevada. She had 5 grandsons’ and 12 great grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and a brother. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa.
