Lila Pritchard

Lila M. Pritchard, 96, formerly of 516 Tama Street in Boone, passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2009. She had been a resident at the Home since June of 2006. She was born on March 20, 1913 in Wahoo, Nebraska the daughter of Chester and Bessie (Lundy) Keely In 1932, she married Louis Smallberger. After his death, she married Vern T. Pritchard in 1962. During World War II, she worked at the ordinance plant in Ankeny and for a number of years, worked with her brother, Chet, at the Tip-Top Sandwich Shop. Lila enjoyed playing bridge, putting puzzles together and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church, Order of Eastern Star Magi Chapter #139, and the White Shrine. Her parents, husbands Louis and Vern, 2 brothers Charles and Chester, 4 sisters Gertrude, Ruth, Katherine and Arlene and a step-daughter Jan Pritchard preceded her in death. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be held on Monday morning, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Eastern Star Masonic Home Chapel in Boone with Pastor Daniel Solomon officiating. Friends may call at the Eastern Star Masonic Home Chapel on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone.
