Marilyn Isaacson

Marilyn Isaacson, 81, of 1110 – 17th Street in Boone passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Thursday morning, August 4, 2011. She was born on March 31, 1930 in Perry, Iowa the daughter of Ike and Zelda Morrison. On January 23, 1960, she married Wallace Dayle Isaacson at the Central Christian Church in Boone. Marilyn was raised in the Redfield area and received her education in the Redfield school district. She was employed as a secretary in Des Moines and later at the Boone County Hospital, and worked for the Boone High School lunch program, as a cook, until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church; Order of Eastern Star and had been an active member as a Lioness in the Boone Lion’s Club. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, cooking and tending to her flower garden. Her parents; husband Dayle in August of 2003; and 1 brother preceded her in death. Survivors include her son Paul Isaacson and wife Teresa of Boone; a grandson Greg Isaacson; a step-grandson Chad Palmer of Boone; 3 step-great-grandchildren Grant, Jenna and Gavin Palmer; a brother Larry Morrison and wife Margaret of Redfield, Iowa; a niece Beth Ann Rogers of Casey, Iowa; and a nephew Bill Morrison of Ames, Iowa. Services will be held on Monday morning, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Boone with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present during that time to greet friends. Visitations will continue on Monday morning at the Church, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family.
