Richard Claring

December 15, 1945 - January 20, 2007

Richard Claring, 61, of 822 West 4th Street, Boone, Iowa, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 20, 2007. He was born on December 15, 1945 in Boone, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Elizabeth (Scott) Claring. Richard was a graduate of Des Moines Tech High School. He was a long distant over the road trucker having traveled in all 48 states as well as Canada and Mexico. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid deer and turkey bow hunter. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boone. His parents, 2 brothers, 1 son, Keith in 1992, and 1 daughter, Marie in 1970, preceded him in death. Survivors include his fiancé, Linda Gau of Boone, IA, 2 sons, Christopher and his wife Nichole of Huxley, IA, William of Boone, IA, 2 daughters, Darci Gau of Denver, CO, Donie Shafer of Des Moines, IA, 5 grandchildren, Naykia Claring of Luray, MO, Kassandra and Christine Claring both of Huxley, IA, Wendy Geier of Des Moines, IA, and Vicky Beagles of Des Moines, IA, 2 great-grandsons, Rayle Geier and Jarek Beagles both of Des Moines, IA, 1 brother, Erick Claring of Missouri, and 1 sister, Virginia McWaters of Centerville, OH. Memorial services will be held Wednesday morning, January 24th at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boone with Bishop Eric Peterson officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery west of Boone, Iowa. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
